Fashion Show Fun

For the past few years we’ve had the opportunity to be involved with Kendall College of Art and Design and their annual fashion show Bodies of Art. This is a completely student run and organized event. We assist with the layout of the event and provide all the lighting and sound support.

In this year’s show all the fashions were made of paper. The show also had a black and white theme. We used all white lighting to highlight the starkness and high contrast of the clothing on display. The models, also all Kendall students, did an excellent job showing off some outfits that had to be very difficult to move around in. Also, these dresses are never going to see a washing machine. Maybe the models can use an eraser if they get dirty.

Bodies of Art was held at the Goei Center in Grand Rapids. The venue is an old furniture factory that has been converted into an event space. It worked really well as a backdrop for this event. Over 200 people attended the show.

The Scheidel Group is very happy about our long relationship with Kendall College and we look forward to assisting with Bodies of Art each year.
